A soft bed is an item that must be crafted. It is an upgraded version of a wooden bed that lets you sleep even faster than the wooden bed. A better bed that allows players to sleep even faster is the golden bed; however, it is not an upgrade. The soft bed was added in version 1.3.

Appearance

A soft bed resembles a wooden bed that has sheets and a pillow on top.

A soft bed can be dyed to another color at a level 2 dye bench. An already-dyed soft bed can not be re-dyed. Only the "sheets" of the bed changes color, the "wood" and "pillow" stay brown and light gray, respectively (although the wood can be painted). Dyed soft beds will stack, but not with undyed soft beds. The stack will display the last added bed as the slot icon; they're placed from the stack in a "first in, last out" sequence.

When used for sleep, a blockhead will appear to be partially inside a soft bed's covers.

Where Found

A soft bed must be created on a level 2 tailor's bench. It is made from five dodo feathers, three linen, and one wooden bed.

Crafting

Soft beds are able to be dyed (and painted) to customize their appearance. Both a dyed bed and an empty bucket will be returned to the blockhead's inventory.

Uses

It may be used to sleep faster than with a wooden bed. A blockhead will also resist beginning to lose energy longer than when sleeping in a wooden bed, indicated by its energy bar being yellow while not decreasing.

As a soft bed is made of wood, it can burn if near a campfire or if lit with an ember.
